Aladdin is a 1992 fantasy film by Ron Clements and John Musker with Scott Weinger and Robin Williams. Aladdin falls in love with Princess Yasmin. So that he can marry her, he uses the magic of a genie to transform himself into a prince. Aladdin lives on the streets and can only survive by stealing. When he sees Princess Yasmin for the first time, he immediately falls in love with her. By chance, Aladdin comes into possession of a magic lamp. The genie, the Genie, emerges from it and grants him three wishes. One of Aladdin's wishes is to transform himself into a prince so that he can marry Yasmin. Everything seems to be going according to Aladdin's plan. However, the Grand Vizier Jaffar has his eye on the magic lamp and Yasmin. Aladdin was nominated for a total of five Oscars and six Golden Globes. He won an Oscar and a Golden Globe for the song A Whole New World, as well as for Best Original Score. Robin Williams won a Special Golden Globe Award for his voice as the Genie. John Candy, Steve Martin, and Eddie Murphy had all previously been cast as the Genie's voice. Several of the Genie impersonations were cut from the film, including those of John Wayne, George Bush, and Dr. Ruth Westheimer. During the course of recording, Robin Williams improvised so much that they had nearly 16 hours of material.
