Hello friends! Today I am sharing with you my experience climbing to the Frey Refuge in Bariloche, Patagonia, Argentina. There are at least 3 possible trails... I took the one that starts at the base of Cerro Catedral, one of the most recommended and least demanding. It can take about 4 hours there and about 2 hours back (outside of winter or snowy season). The last kilometer... the last hour is VERY demanding but the tiredness passes and the glory is eternal! Enjoy it! and thank you. --------------------------------------------------------- INFO: NATIONAL PARKS REGISTRATION It is mandatory to register On-Line for National Parks; once you receive the confirmation in your e-mails, take a screenshot because there is no signal on the trail and I heard of people who... at the request of the Park Ranger, had no way of proving that they had made the notification in PN. HOW TO GET THERE: There are 3 trails: 1- TRADITIONAL TRAIL (from the base of the Catedral; approx. 4 hours one way, 2 hours back): for me it is the recommended one. You can get there by car and leave it in the Catedral parking lot or by bus line 55; check the schedules because the frequency is usually VERY spaced out. From the center of Bariloche they leave at 7 and 8 am and return at 6pm and 8pm for sure.
