Bass player, singer and showman Vilém Čok entered the scene with the punk band Zikkurat, which in the beginning somewhat paradoxically won points at the Prague Jazz Days. Subsequently, he was roped into the Prague selection, with which he found himself in the first league of Czech rock music, but later also on the blacklist of regime censors. He survived the ban on Selection in the Moped group, later returned to Selection and co-founded Nova Růža after the revolution, but it did not have a long existence. Today, in addition to Pražské Výběr, he devotes himself to his band Bypass. There is another On Air about all this. How did he actually become a bass player? How did the hit Karel nes about tea come about? And why do they still hate disco? Watch the full interview. ON AIR is a talk show by music columnist Pavel Kučera with musicians and people from the music industry. A new episode is published every week on the YouTube channel kytary.cz.
