Dr. Pierluigi Russo, a specialist in Gynecology and Obstetrics, tells us what uterine fibroids consist of and how to treat them. A doctor registered with the Medical Association of Rome since 2021. In 1996 he graduated in Medicine and Surgery at La Sapienza University of Rome where he obtained a specialization in Gynecology and Obstetrics in 2002. He has gained significant experience in both traditional (laparotomy) and minimally invasive (laparoscopic-hysteroscopic) gynecological surgery on benign and malignant pathology and robotic surgery. He specializes in performing outpatient diagnostic hysteroscopies with 1500 tests per year. He deals with the clinical, diagnostic and surgical management of endometriosis. Since the acquisition of the computer system for recording surgical activity by the San Carlo di Nancy Hospital in Rome, he has participated as first operator and assistant from 01/21/2015 to 04/20/2021 in 2223 interventions. In 2014 he attended the Gynecological Oncology department of the IFO in Rome. Currently, he carries out his freelance activity at various practices in Rome and surgical activity at the most important Clinics in Rome and is on staff at the Gynecology and Obstetrics Division of the San Paolo Hospital in Civitavecchia. He is the author of various scientific publications at national and international level, as well as being a member of AOGOI and SEGI.
