Or they ignore the symptoms of the disease, reducing them to a temporary "lowering of mood". Working with people with depression is also a considerable challenge for psychotherapists, who do not remain emotionally indifferent to the condition of their patients. Dr. Izabela Pawłowska spoke about what depression really is, how its therapy proceeds in various psychotherapeutic trends and what difficulties therapists have to face. Dr. Izabela Pawłowska - clinical psychologist. Graduate of SWPS University in Wrocław. Completed postgraduate studies: Basics of Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at the Krakow Psychodynamic Center (KCP) in Krakow, Psychological Diagnosis in Clinical Practice at the SWPS University in Warsaw and Pedagogical Preparation. Completed 4-year training in psychotherapy at the Center for Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CTPB) in Warsaw in cooperation with the Oxford Cognitive Therapy Center (OCTC) and obtained a certificate of a cognitive-behavioral psychotherapist in the Polish Society for Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (PTTPB) - license number 440. PhD in clinical psychology, psycho-oncology and health psychology. Member of the Polish Society for Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy (PTTPB) and the Polish Psychological Association (PTP). Professional work: Private psychological and psychotherapeutic practice in the cognitive-behavioral trend. Scientific and didactic work at SWPS University (including management of postgraduate studies Practical psychological diagnosis). Since 2010, appointed court expert in the field of psychology at the District Court in Wrocław About the project: Strefa Psyche of SWPS University is an innovative undertaking, the aim of which is to popularize psychological knowledge at the highest substantive level and to discover the possibilities of action offered by psychology in various spheres of both private and professional life. We want to show the practical application of psychological knowledge not only in the spheres obvious for this field of science (e.g. assistance, therapy), but also in the business sector and advanced, modern technologies.
