Not long after the new Government was sworn in, the fate of the ruling coalition was already hanging in the balance – the leader of “Nemunas Dawn” Remigijus Žemaitaitis has issued an ultimatum to the coalition partners, under which case the faction he leads will remain in the ruling majority. The condition publicly set by R. Žemaitaitis is simple: the Speaker of the Seimas Saulius Skvernelis must submit R. Žemaitaitis’ candidacy for the position of Deputy Speaker of the Seimas in the near future, because according to the coalition agreement, “Nemunas Dawn” has two Deputy Speakers of the Seimas.
