Brazilian transport infrastructure after the pandemic from the perspective of the Ministry of Infrastructure In Brazil, the severe financial crisis of the Brazilian State over the last two decades has been seriously compromising investments in the country's transport infrastructure. Due to these low investments in highways, railways, ports, airports and waterways, Brazil is making the existing infrastructure worse. This scenario greatly affects the efficiency and effectiveness of national logistics and contributes significantly to the country's extremely high logistics costs, which amount to around 21.5% of GDP, well above the acceptable level of a maximum of 6.5%. Despite the current economic and health crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, which had a strong negative impact on GDP in 2020, there are good expectations and great conviction from the Federal Government that, in 2021, MINFRA's actions will contribute to catalyzing and accelerating the recovery of the economy, employment and income generation. The proposed Webinar aims to explore this entire panorama, based on the experience of the current Executive Secretary of MINFRA, Marcelo Sampaio, who has served in important positions in the Federal Government since 2008, especially in the area of transportation. ----- This is an event promoted by FGV Transportes 🔉Disclosure: The opinions expressed by members of the staff of Fundação Getulio Vargas and by guests who participate in the events and online broadcasts represent exclusively the opinions of their authors and do not necessarily represent the institutional position of FGV. ⏩ Check out the full schedule of FGV Webinars: https://portal.fgv.br/eventos ⏩ Watch previous events by accessing our Playlist: https://bit.ly/webinarsFGV
