How could Jesus tell a parable in which a corrupt man is praised? To arrive at an adequate interpretation, we basically need to answer two questions: 1) What is being praised? 2) What is the unjust wealth of verse 9? The way we answer these two questions will allow us to understand what our master Christ wanted to teach with this parable. Far from encouraging us to be corrupt, we will realize that Jesus is calling us to commit ourselves more as Christians. One of the most important things to evaluate in a text is the audience that is in focus in the pericope, letter or book. In this case, we need to note the following. Jesus has just spoken three parables that served as a rebuke to the Pharisees. The parable of the lost sheep, the lost coin, and the two sons. Now, however, even though the environment has not changed, Jesus changes the focus from the Pharisees to his disciples. ----- ACCESS THE SITE: https://doisdedosdeteologia.com ----- OUR NETWORKS Twitter: / doisdedosdeteo Facebook: / doisdedosdeteologia Instagram: / doisdedosdeteologia PLAYLISTS OF THE DOIS DEDOS DE TEOLOGIA CHANNEL: • DOIS DEDOS DE TEOLOGIA DROPS: • #DROPS PODCAST: • BAIXO CLERO - the podcast of conversations ...
