The Legend of the Origin of Watu Ulo is a folk tale that tells of a giant dragon named Nogo Rojo who was defeated by Joko Mursodo. This legend is believed by the local community as the origin of the name Watu Ulo Beach in Jember, East Java. It began when a child named Joko Mursodo ran away from Banyuwangi and was found in the middle of the forest by Aki and Nini Sambi. He was cared for like a child because the husband and wife did not have children yet. Joko Mursodo was taught kanuragan and martial arts by Aki Sambi.
