A movie story about drama after drama and about the war that rages in people even after the war. The main character, an Orthodox monk, will find himself on the path of inner healing, in a way he never dreamed of. The film follows the path of spiritual ascension, metaphorically present already in the first frames of the hero's walk to a lonely hermitage. In the leitmotif scenes of watering a dry dead tree, present throughout the film, the absurdity of the monk's faith is depicted. The film raises the question of the limits of love, given in Christ's commandment "Love your enemy", thematizing the problem of forgiveness as a condition for living in love and victory over death and meaninglessness. The permanent mutilation of all the heroes, who came out of the hell of war, calls for forgiveness as the only means of final healing.
