The six cast members of the musical "GIRLFRIEND" performed songs from the play at the rehearsal hall. https://entre-news.jp/2024/05/526360.... This work is a pop and rock musical based on Matthew Sweet's CD album "GIRLFRIEND," which represents the 90s, depicting the bittersweet "love" of two young men. Screenwriter Todd Almond wove his own experiences into the lyrics of this man's message to a woman, blending them so beautifully that it feels like the music was written for the work. This performance at Theater Crea will be the first in Japan. The director is Yuuna Koyama, a notable director in the theater world who has directed straight plays as well as musicals such as "Robot in the Garden" and "Finding Neverland." The cast will feature a triple cast of Takahashi Kensuke, Shima Taisei, and Izawa Takuma as Will, and a triple cast of Hagiya Keigo, Yoshitaka Shion, and Kihara Rui as Mike. A public dress rehearsal was held for this work, and three songs from the play were sung.
