Ceará is truly fortunate to have such a treasure. A simple fishing village with white sand dunes, an immense blue sea that moves with the tide, natural pools with clear water, a constant wind that is perfect for kitesurfing, breathtaking sunsets, donkeys everywhere, mangroves, amazing forró music, lots of sun and, best of all, it is difficult to access. It is perfect. This is Jeri's great asset in maintaining its magic even after it became a star. Jeri, as it is affectionately called by its close friends, is synonymous with charm. A rustic and simple charm, typical of a fishing village. Its streets are all made of sand. Nothing has footwear. In many restaurants, the floor is made of sand. The jewelry store's entrance is also made of sand. The door to the bakery of the foreigner who loves that peace and quiet is accessed through a sandy alley. Sand everywhere. The rule is to wear flip-flops and beachwear. No high heels or makeup. You need to be a nature lover to have fun in Jeri. There are many interesting things to see around Jeri. Buggy drivers are always around offering their services. You can go to Pedra Furada, Preá, Barrinha, Lagoa do Paraíso, Buraco Azul, Tatajuba, Árvore da Preguiça and other more distant places. Pedra Furada is one of Jericoacoara's postcards. The tourist attraction has a rock formation on the beach with a crack in the middle. How to get to Pedra Furada in Jericoacoara? There are 3 ways to get there. You can go via Morro do Serrote, Praia da Malhada or via the upper slope to Gruta da Princesa. The trail takes about 40 minutes. However, if you go via Praia da Malhada, Pedra Furada is only accessible at low tide. We did the trail from Morro do Serrote, in the late afternoon, right after visiting Árvore da Preguiça. It's a long trail, with incredible views from one end to the other, and the descent is quite difficult, with lots of rocks, but it's worth it in the end! What is the sloth tree? It's simply a tree native to the region, isolated amidst the sands of Jericocoara National Park, just a few meters from the sea. The scientific name of its species is Conocarpus Erectus, popularly known as Mangue-de-Botão. Because of the strong sea winds, it grew curved, as if it were lying down or crawling on the ground.
