At Bingen University, physicist Tobias Pfaff takes a closer look at roasters. How do stainless steel, aluminum and cast iron differ? And what is the thermal conductivity? ROASTERS MADE OF CAST IRON, STAINLESS STEEL, ALUMINUM The following expensive and cheap roasters compete against each other in our test: Stainless steel roaster: roaster from WMF for just under 140 euros Roaster "Trier" from CS, for just under 65 euros, bought at Kaufland Aluminum roaster: roaster from Hoffmann for just under 200 euros Roaster "Ernesto" from Lidl for just under 30 euros Cast iron roaster: roaster from Le Creuset for almost 400 euros Roaster from Ikea for just under 60 euros.
