Myanmar is a country with a vast land area six times the size of South Korea and home to over 130 ethnic minorities. We take a train from Naungcho in Shan State in the northeast to Hsipaw, the hub of ethnic minority villages. The train passes the 102m high Gokteik Bridge, once the highest in the world. The train running on a 100-year-old bridge is thrilling and creaky, but the snacks shared with the people in front of you are sweet. Among the 34 kingdoms of Shan State in the past, Sippe was the most prosperous. Now, it has become a small town that belies its former fame, but it boasts a quaint townscape that has not changed over time. A group of pink monks, Thilashin, that I met while walking down the street. Nothing can stop them from marching as they go out to beg for alms during the hottest time of the day. Sippe’s famous places introduced to me by local girls I met at the market. The first place is a Shan noodle shop that you must eat in Myanmar. The second is Sunset Point, Thein Daung, located on the side of a mountain. Another place recommended by locals that I trust and visit. I arrived at Mannye Village, which I arrived at after riding a three-wheeled Thongpika for an hour from Sippe. It is a village where the Palaung people live among the many ethnic minority villages nearby. A grandmother sitting in front of a large loom, weaving cloth to make bags and clothes, and a couple pulling an oxcart to chop and load firewood. Let’s take a look at the daily lives of the Palaung people who live as if time has stopped in a mountain village where we visited to meet the most pure people in Myanmar. Part 1. Myanmar, the golden land where the smile of Buddha lives. We leave Yangon and Mandalay, which have splendid pagodas, and go to find unknown villages hidden in the outskirts. Chaung Thar, a beach that is considered one of the best for Myanmar people. Our first journey begins at Aung Min Gla Island, which is a 2-minute boat ride from the beach. The small island is covered with a dense palm forest, providing cool shade and palm trees to quench the thirst of the villagers. Curator Hae I-su also follows the locals and tries to climb a tree and pick coconuts. However, it is not easy to come down from the tree as much as you climbed up... Will Hae I-su be able to safely come down from the tree? Pathein, located along the Irrawaddy River, the lifeline of Myanmar that runs through the center of the country. Kandy, a small village where you can find colorful traditional handmade umbrellas and a precarious bamboo bridge. You meet children who are curious and curious about foreigners and young people catching fish on the river. Chaung Wa, a small village located in the southwest where the river and the Myanmar Sea meet to form a huge delta. The boat dock to Chaung Wa is crowded with people buying, selling, and loading goods. There is not enough space to sit comfortably on the boat and it is a long 10-hour journey, but the faces of the people heading home are bright. A lap of Chaung Wa, taking in the cool sea breeze under the hot weather of Southeast Asia. You can meet the strangely famous rocks with the locals and taste the fried ratfish that the locals catch, clean, and fry. Let’s take a look into the lives of the cheerful people living in the seaside village of Myanmar, the land of purity. Part 3. Indawgyi Lake is located about 150km west of Myitkyina, the capital city of Kachin State, located at the head of Myanmar, which resembles a stingray. It is the largest lake in Myanmar, measuring 13km in width and 24km in length. There are 16 villages surrounding the lake, and there is a large mountain surrounding the lake and villages, making it difficult to enter or exit. However, spring has come to the mountains, villages, and lake as flowers and buds bloom. Finding accommodations in Myanmar, where foreigners and locals have separate accommodations, is not easy. We start our journey in Longtone Village, where Indawgyi Lake has designated accommodations. A mobile ice cream shop that brings back memories of childhood. Everyone, regardless of age, gathers to cool off with ice cream. Children playing foot volleyball, Chinlong, and a lively wedding like a village festival. The fisherman family of Shweletpan, a clear and blue lakeside village, Dangchoi and her husband. Let's follow the day of the fisherman family of Indoji Lake with the two of them. They go out to the lake by boat to catch fish to sell at the market, and take the fish they catch and sell them at the market. It's okay if there are leftover fish. They take the leftover fish and go to the grandmother's house next door...
