A paradoxical situation is unfolding in Lithuania - we keep increasing the salaries of public sector employees, but we do not demand efficiency from them. Businesses, which are constantly being promised tax increases, are already saying that they can no longer compete with public sector workers on wages. In some districts, they exceed 10 percent of the private sector. In addition, in Lithuania, far more people work in the public sector than on average in the EU, and the reforms promised by politicians never happen. For example, if all people working in the education sector were educators, one child would be taught by four teachers. Vidmantas Janulevičius, president of the Confederation of Lithuanian Industrialists, and Marius Dubnikovas, vice-president of the Confederation of Lithuanian Business, talk about how it threatens us and what traps we can fall into in the program "Verslo svetnivni". The host of the show is Arūnas Milašius.
