Bonek's book ???? https://bit.ly/bonek_history Several hundred cubes of German RIF soap, which - according to rumors repeated after the war - was supposed to be rendered from human fat. Such a find was stumbled upon by the team of the popular YouTube channel "History Hiking" in the forest near Czeremcha in Podlasie, where German warehouses were previously located. The cubes marked with the mark "RIF" and serial numbers lie on two mounds covered with moss. The objects are very well preserved, probably hardened by external factors. The cubes survived intact for almost 80 years. According to reports from local residents, during the war there were Wehrmacht warehouses in this place, which burned down. The soap bars were supposed to harden under the influence of high temperature, but we are unable to verify this theory - says Maciej Regewicz, host of the "History Hiking" channel. RIF soap bars have been found in the forest near Czeremcha before. In 2007, an anonymous seller put the soap bar found there up for auction online for about PLN 50. The offer caused a wave of outrage. In reality, "RIF" is an abbreviation of the words "Reichsstelle für Industrialle Fettversorgung", which meant the Reich's supply center - explains Regewicz. - The soap's bad reputation comes from its association with the pseudo-medical experiments of Professor Spanner - he adds. ????
