Finally, the wait is over! Ålgård TV episode 5 is out – and this time as a “thresher special”, where the film crew closely follows local combine harvesters in Jæren throughout the 2024 season. First, you will get a product review of the New Holland CH 7.70 combine harvester by Trond Nedrebø himself who works at CNHi. Trond usually works in technical support at CNHi for the Nordic and Baltic regions, but this season he is driving a yellow combine harvester, with an enormous capacity. Trond has been driving combine harvesters all his life, naturally enough as Trond's father, Terje Nedrebø, started with rental threshing at Jæren in 1961 – and this year Terje is actually celebrating his 63rd season as a combine harvester driver, at 83 years old, which is quite impressive. In addition to the capacity combine harvester, New Holland CH 7.70 Crossover Harvesting that you acquired in 2022, they have a smaller combine harvester for small items – New Holland TC 4.90 which is a well-known model in Norway. We then head to Jæren Treskelag, which has recently acquired a large used combine, a New Holland CX 8080 with 1050 wheels. Then sales manager at Ålgård Landbrukssenter, John Magne Øgreid, gives a product review of Baastrup's CTS series, where we take a closer look at a "grain rig" CTS 18 model that is absolutely brilliant. Finally, we visit what we would say is one of Norway's largest combine contractors, Herredsvela Maskin. Here you will get an interview with driver Morten Nygaard, who is the regular driver of Herredsvela's New Holland CX 7.90 with belts. After this, we head to Hommersåk, where Herredsvela is running the end of the season with all 6 of their different New Holland combine harvesters on one and the same stretch, 100 feet with headers in a long row. Here we have a chat with the combine harvester king himself, Svein Herredsvela and his son Magnus. Svein is 76 years old and has been threshing for hire since he was 14 years old, impressive! New for Herredsvela for the 2024 season is a new New Holland CH 7.70 with rear-mounted tracks, this is actually the only CH model in the world that runs on tracks – delivered and mounted by Ålgård Landbrukssenter.
