We know that they can and often do develop as a complication of undiagnosed and untreated ADHD. As anecdotal evidence, I have almost all of my previous episodes to confirm this, because it was most often anxiety disorders (and/or) depression that caused the people I talk to here to end up seeing a psychiatrist or eventually stumble upon ADHD. We also know that anxiety can mask ADHD symptoms, and this was the case with my guest, Jędrek Niemczyk, with whom we talk a lot about anxiety disorders. Jędrek was convinced that he couldn't have ADHD because he was very organized and never lost anything. And only after taking care of this anxious part did it turn out that it was because he obsessively checks everything several times, and at the same time lives in constant tension. Jędrek suspected ADHD in himself for a long time, but he received a diagnosis this year and now thanks to it he can further discover himself and his ADHD. But we are not only talking about ADHD and anxiety here today. Because Jędrek, apart from being an anti-addict, is also a fat and queer activist, and his dream is for fat people not to experience discrimination due to the size of their body (the word "fat" is used here as a neutral adjective). After years of living with eating disorders, my guest began his adventure with fatmancipation and body positivity by working on his relationship with his body and food in the anti-diet movement. Inspired by the activities of fat women and women on social media, he wanted people to see his male perspective on what it's like to be a fat guy living in a patriarchal and weight-centric world, thus rejecting its dogma and believing in the equality of all bodies. Since 2022, he has been creating educational content on Instagram, so far he has been a guest on podcasts such as Think Body, co-created a fatmancipation panel at the Lato Wolnej Miłości festival, and led workshops on the body "One body for life" at the online event "Ciałowolność", showing people that building a positive relationship with the body and opposing fatphobia and diet culture is a socially important issue. She is training in body equality, fat acceptance, building a positive relationship with it, but also in creating a support group, TSR (Solution Focused Therapy), and NVC (Non-Violent Communication), and thanks to this she is in the process of creating a space for fat people, the Support Group, which is to be a place where fat people can have a relationship with each other, exchange experiences and build a friendly image of themselves.
