A poem about a cat for children - and it was supposed to be about a storm...

Do you like cats? I do. For many years, cats have lived with us, so I have the opportunity to constantly observe them and regularly photograph them. However, this poem about a cat for children was not inspired by photography (like many of my other texts). It was originally titled "Storm". I started writing it when thunder and rumbling were thundering and growling in the clouds above our house. I thought to myself that the sky was purring loudly and I didn't even look back when there was a draft of the text on the page. Jarosław Nykiel "Cat" A gray cat lies high on the blue bedding and purrs. Sometimes it meows something to the clouds, teases the cumulus with its tail... Or another one turns over to one side and squeezes the rain out of the stratus sponge. It has just run to scatter the clouds, because it is tempted to mischief. With a graceful leap it jumped over the rainbow, now it shakes the tears of drizzle from its paw... Divinely agile and cat-like charming, with diamond droplets on its whiskers! He will soon curl up and fall asleep, wrapped in a silk nebula. He will go fishing at night, because star mice will sneak onto the Moon. He will drink milk from the Milky Way, and although the cosmic couch tempts him, he will wait for the comet under the cart to catch its tail with his claw. jn, BB, 2024-07-12 I have had a poem about a cat for children on my mind for a long time. A real cat too! A black Taurus tomcat used to climb on my head when he was still a little kitten. I jokingly call him my cat's son, and my boys are not jealous at all. ;) Cats are wonderful, nice animals. They have a lot of charm, and watching them is pure pleasure. They like to spend time with their caregivers, you just have to remember not to force them to do anything. Then their predatory nature can come to the fore. ;) PS My partner, Magda, is an outstanding cat expert.
