I checked the first ice of 2024-2025 near the shore near the crack for strength, got to the first promising place, made several holes near the reeds in the hope of catching a predatory fish, a toothy hunter for zherlitsy. In the morning, the perch was capricious, it seemed that there was no fish on the lake at all. But I also wanted to catch a roach, since the pike loves this type of fish more than the perch. As always happens, the fish bite yesterday and tomorrow. The frost was getting stronger, there was no one around, alone on the lake, I managed to persuade one perch and put the first tip-up. The frost was getting stronger and I decided to move in search of active fish, it was important to catch live bait. I found an interesting bottom relief, made several holes in the most promising places and began to successfully catch perch, there were also decent-sized striped robbers, for such a small forest lake. I had to go back to the reeds and put new tip-ups. I really wanted to catch a pike from the ice. With each hole the size of the fish was bigger, the bites were powerful, I did not expect this. I found interesting places, picked up the wiring, brisk bites in the hand on the spoon and jig pleased the fisherman. Daylight hours are short, at sunset I found several good holes with hungry fish. I successfully caught perch, set up tip-ups, released some of the perch and managed to catch a good fish soup and a couple of frying pans.
