It was 37 years ago on August 1st that steam locomotives were reinstated on the Yamaguchi Line. A steam locomotive ran on this anniversary. It was the last day of double-headed operation this summer, so even though it was a weekday, an overflowing crowd gathered. As a commemorative event for the revival, C571 and C56160 were lined up side by side on the Tsuwano Station turntable for a few minutes for a photo session, which was a huge success. There are rumors that this year will be the last time that C571 and C56160 will be double-headed together. The louder whistle than usual seemed to be a sign of regret for the end.
