In the era of globalization, French cutlery still exists. It faces strong competition, particularly from Asia, and yet the Made in France knife still cuts. In the heart of Auvergne, in the town of Thiers, a hundred small businesses and craftsmen represent nearly a thousand jobs. How do they face global competition, how does a sector that almost disappeared manage to exist in France? Through the examples of the cutler Verdier, small craftsmen and tableware specialists like Geneviève Lethu who decided to relocate the production of their cutlery to Thiers after a few years of manufacturing in China, the film offers an economic investigation into Made in France knives.
