Today I'm going to share a bit about my own career as a patient. In today's video I want to give you a few tips on how to overcome depression using your own resources. Of course, a YouTube video can never replace going to a psychotherapist, but it can at least give you a few "first aid tools". The tips I'm giving you in the video today are not just any tips, but things that I used myself when I was struggling with depression. Yes, you heard right, I've been depressed several times myself and have often worked my way out of such phases because I simply had no therapy options. The experience of having suffered from depression myself still influences the work I do with my patients today, because I know how bad it feels and because I know exactly which tools work and which don't. In the first part of the video I tell you what a positive effect mediation had on me when I was deep in depression and how much meditation changed my "depressive" way of thinking. In the next part, I explain how I combined meditation with regular exercise and gradually emerged from the valley of depression. Another part deals with the topic of shame, which I had to deal with in order to get out of depression. The last part describes how I came to work with family constellations via the depressive phase and how much this helped me to heal.
