In May of 1555, several thousand Wokou invaded Yeongam in South Jeolla Province, which turned out to be the largest Wokou raid since the establishment of Joseon Dynasty. Joseon suffered great damage due to the attack by the Wokou armed with gunpowder weapons, so it reorganized its defense system in preparation for a large-scale conflict like the Eulmyo Incident, and began to improve its gunpowder system by adopting technologies from the Ming Dynasty and Japan, which had been halted since the reign of King Sejo. In the final episode of Season 1 of Firepower Joseon, we reexamine the story of the introduction of gunpowder weapons technology during the reign of King Jungjong and King Myeongjong, which was buried in the records of the court disputes. In May of the year of Eulmyo (1555), several thousand Wokou invaded Yeongam in South Jeolla Province, which turned out to be the biggest Wokou raid since the establishment of Joseon Dynasty.
