Want to know how votes are counted in elections? It's all done by a supercomputer, without human intervention. At the end of voting, a ballot paper is issued from each piece of equipment that recorded the votes, in each polling station. These documents are digitally signed and encrypted. Then, the ballot papers are sent to the results memory, a type of flash drive, which goes directly to a transmission point located in an electoral office. From there, they are transmitted, on an exclusive and protected channel that only the Electoral Court has access to, directly to the Totalization Section room, which is located at the headquarters of the Superior Electoral Court, in Brasília.
