Telegram channel, our expeditions: https://t.me/r89exp More of our media in VK video: https://vk.com/r89exp PART 3 of our Arctic expedition TIKSI 2024 on TANK 300 In this episode: the Lena, Vilyuy, Kolyma, Anabar highway, as well as 4 winter roads: Anabar, Tas-Yuryakh - Verkhnemarkovo, Yana and Bulun In recent years, there has been an obvious romanticization of winter roads in the media space. They have become a tasty morsel for extreme car travelers: they drive on them, they are filmed, they talk about beauty and extreme sports ... But if you remove all this romance, what will be the bottom line? What role do these winter roads play in the lives of people in the Far North, people of the Arctic, who are cut off from civilization for most of the year? It seems to me that we are missing from the story the fact that a winter road is almost a lifeline for hundreds of thousands of people in Russia. We talk about the beauty and specifics of winter roads, but we miss the explanation of the phenomenon of a winter road itself. In this series, using Yakutia as an example, we will examine in detail the role these seasonal roads play in the life of an entire republic, what dangers they pose and how they ensure the life support of the most remote corners of our homeland. Yakutia is the leader in Russia in the number of winter roads. It is the largest subject in the world, which occupies about 17% of the area of Russia. And winter roads in Yakutia make up 70% of all roads - this is more than 11,000 kilometers. Over 2 years, we drove along 5 winter roads of Yakutia: from Mirny to Anabar, from Yakutsk to Tiksi, along rivers, swamps, seas and oceans. We talked to people and learned all the nuances of life in areas cut off from civilization. Yakutia's logistics corridors are one of the most pressing issues facing the republic's residents. In this episode, we dig deeper and find out why about 1,000,000 people are cut off from civilization for at least several months a year. And when will the issue with the unfortunate bridge across the Lena be resolved? ???? Among other things, we visited places such as the Mir kimberlite pipe, the Batagai crater, the Verkhoyansk ridge, the pole of cold, and the seaport of Tiksi.
