Maharishi Valmiki makes Luvkush memorize Ramayana and makes him adept at singing with Veena. The most emotional episode in the entire Ramayana recital was the false accusations made on Mother Sita by the people of Ayodhya and Sita's abandonment by Ram. Maharishi Valmiki himself was fascinated to hear Luvkush's rendition of this episode. Luvkush wants to know what happens in the Ram Katha after Sita's abandonment. Gurudev says that when the time comes, he will tell him this too. Both the children do not know that the Sita and Ram whose story they are singing are their own parents. Sita gets disturbed after listening to his words. A havan is organized in the royal palace of Ayodhya on the occasion of Ram's birthday. On this occasion, minister Sumant tells him that these days the people are getting discouraged. There is a need to infuse energy in them. Then Ram expresses his desire to perform Rajsuya Yagya for this. But Bharat does not agree with this. Bharat says that in Rajsuya Yagya, King Ram will have to fight with other kings and defeat them and this will lead to the destruction of all the dynasties on earth. Bharat further says that the kings of other kingdoms look at Ram with devotion, then what is the need to defeat them. Then Laxman suggests performing Ashwamedha Yagya instead of Rajsuya. In Ashwamedha Yagya, a horse is released and the army follows that horse. If the king of the kingdom through which the horse passes does not catch the horse, then that kingdom automatically comes under the rule of the king who performs the Ashwamedha Yagya. Ram says that he has committed the sin of brahmahatya due to the killing of Ravana. He will be freed from sin by performing Ashwamedha Yagya. Maharishi Vashishtha gladly accepts to organize the Yagya. The story of Luv Kush is depicted in Uttar Ramayana.
