Today I am in front of an old lady, a 53-year-old Dacia 1100 in perfect working order, certified historic vehicle. This is the first car produced by Dacia, a faithful copy of the Renault 8, which first appeared in our country in 1968 and was manufactured for 4 years until 1971. With a 1.1 petrol engine, naturally aspirated, located at the back, as in Porsche, which develops 46 horsepower at 4600 rpm, this car is a true reminder of what life as a car owner used to be like. Without air conditioning, without servo, without ABS, the driving experience is clearly a special one. Although you would say that 46 horses is not a lot, the car weighs about 750 kg, so the horse/mass ratio is quite good and you can handle traffic with it even today. The owner of the car keeps it in perfect condition, with original paint, all French parts and an immaculate interior. They are increasingly rare cars and somehow it's sad that people don't recognize them on the street anymore. Our basic Dacia that we relied on in the past is now an unknown legend...
