In the 1930s, Rosemary Kennedy shone in photos alongside her brothers JFK and Bobby, giving no hint of her suffering or the slight mental retardation she had suffered from since birth. But in 1941, at the age of 23, she suddenly disappeared from public life after undergoing a lobotomy ordered by her father. What really happened to her? Why did the patriarch of the most famous dynasty in the United States condemn his eldest daughter to a life of seclusion, cut off from the world and from her own family? For the first time, a documentary looks back at what remains to this day the Kennedys' most terrible secret. Patrick Jeudy revisits the history of the Kennedy family in light of Rosemary's little-known fate. In this documentary entirely composed of archives, he recreates an atmosphere halfway between melodrama and film noir, and tells us the moving story of a young woman sacrificed by her own people, because her fragility did not fit in with the ambitions of the clan.
