Charlie Dalin, 40, won the tenth edition of the Vendée Globe this Tuesday morning, the solo round-the-world race in a monohull, without stopovers or assistance. At the helm of his Imoca (18.28 m) Macif Santé Prévoyance, the skipper from Le Havre crossed the finish line off Les Sables-d'Olonne after 64 days, 19 hours, 22 minutes and 49 seconds, thus smashing the previous record for the event set in 2017 by Armel Le Cléac'h (Banque Populaire VIII) in 74 days, 3 hours, 35 minutes and 46 seconds. Second on the outward journey across the Equator at the end of November, leading at the Cape of Good Hope and Cape Leeuwin, then second on the passage around Cape Horn nine minutes behind Yoann Richomme (Paprec Arkéa), Dalin took the lead on the journey back up the Atlantic to set this record time and claim the greatest success of his career. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Don't miss any sports news 👉 http://ow.ly/5etn30qnKgp Subscribe to the digital offer 👉 http://ow.ly/wjz230qqgaU Watch the L'Équipe channel 👉 http://ow.ly/GE3O30qqg19 Follow us on: Facebook 👉 http://ow.ly/fWOD30qnKgK Twitter 👉 http://ow.ly/d7Ya30qnKh1 Instagram 👉 http://ow.ly/NTtx30qnKhh Snapchat 👉 http://ow.ly/XGkv30qqfYg Twitch 👉 http://ow.ly/sWHt30qqg8M ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Today, L'Équipe is followed by a hundred disciplines, more than 10 000 days of reporting, more than 100 world tours traveled by more than 300 journalists to be present on sports fields around the world.
