History is always the most useful and reliable tool to interpret many, if not all, of what we are experiencing today in the country. They are not pleasant and tend to become dangerous. Many are of the opinion that the state of Greece started out wrong and they obviously refer to the assassination of Ioannis Kapodistrias. The events that led to it, unfortunately, we are living and reliving in our country. In the studio of the militaire channel the president of the Society for the Study of Modern and Contemporary History – Ioannis Kapodistrias, lawyer and historian Mr. Andreas Koukos. With him we have another discussion about Ioannis Kapodistrias which focuses on the conflict he had with Alexander Mavrokordatos. A person who despite the attempts to “purify” him, played, as all historical evidence shows, a negative role. Mr. Koukos analyzes this conflict and as you will see, many, many of what happened almost 200 years ago will remind you of many, many of what we are experiencing today. After all, was Mavrokordatos one of the moral instigators of the Kapodistrias assassination? Would a politician with the characteristics of Kapodistrias have any luck in today's Greece, where political ethics have been sought since the day of his assassination? Who is Andreas Koukos: He studied at the Law School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and at the Military School of Officers, and holds a master's degree in Naval Science and Strategy from the Naval War College, while he is also a graduate of the National Defense School. In 2012, he completed his doctorate at the School of Philosophy of the University of Athens. He is a Professor of Modern History at the National Defense Academy and the Naval War College and has participated in many Scientific Conferences in Greece and abroad. His writings include more than 30 scientific publications and over 100 articles in Greek and foreign historical journals. He has served as Scientific Advisor to the “Ioannis Kapodistrias” Cities Network and has been honored with Greek decorations and medals. He is a Brigadier General (retd.) of the Corps of Legal Advisors of the Hellenic Armed Forces. On September 21, 2010, he founded the Ioannis Kapodistrias Project Study Society, a scientific company, with the aim of promoting the complex work of Ioannis Kapodistrias in Greece and internationally.
