Ditoka wa Kalenga Muleka draws a parallel between the binary language of computer systems and African cowrie shell games, demonstrating that binary language technology has been used by Africans for centuries, long before the existence of computers. Múleka Dítoka wa Kalenga was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo, a large country rich in natural resources, located in the center of the African continent. Muleka, now 76 years old, has been in Brazil since 1981. He has a degree in journalism (École supérieure de journalisme de Paris), a degree in International Relations (Université nationale du Zaïre), a master's degree in Advertising and Propaganda (University of São Paulo – ECA) and defended his doctoral thesis in Sciences (ECA/USP). Among his many studies, Muleka is also a musician and the father of prominent Brazilian musicians. With frequent trips to his home country, Muleka builds cultural and scientific bridges between Brazil and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
