“The end of Attack on Titan is a disaster” That’s what we could read everywhere on the internet 2 years ago, when the 139th and final chapter of the manga came out. “Mikasa is useless, Armin is stupid, Eren is ruined”... It was screaming from everywhere. Some even went so far as to rewrite their own ending, to “correct the author’s mistakes”. They even want to make an animated version. The lack of respect is colossal, but it shows a deeper problem: the end of Attack on Titan is imperfect. Isayama admits it himself, writing it was an ordeal! He even asks his fans for forgiveness! The anime ended a month ago, it was good, beautiful, with complex messages… Maybe a little too much? Some people still find the conclusion crap. Are they right? Or did they just miss something?
