On Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at 6:30 p.m., the History professor of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Maria Efthymiou, will hold a speech on "The American Revolution and how it affected the Greek Revolution" at the Hellenic-American Union Theater (Massalias 22, 10680, Athens). As Mrs. Efthymiou notes, the War of American Independence covered a range of events of a military, ideological, political, diplomatic nature, during approximately two decades (1765-1784). Although it began as a reaction of the English colonists of the 13 States against the policy of the monarch of England, it gradually developed into a Revolution. This war, from which the colonists emerged victorious with the help of troops sent to them by the King of France, sparked innovative initiatives and ideologies that determined, to a large extent, the evolution of humanity in the decades that followed. This is followed by a discussion of history with journalist Makis Provatas. More information: https://www.hau.gr/el-gr/culture/even... Premiere: 23/03/2022, 18:30 GMT +2
