This is the second film of director Vassilis Tsikaras' trilogy, about 1821. The first is "Exodus 1826". The "Siege" is based on real events, namely the battle of the Monastery of Dobra in Veria, in March 1822. But history repeats itself. Two Greek army officers at Rupel Fort, March 1941, face the same challenges a few days before the German attack. A few words about the project: In the war-hostile climate of the time, two families meet in a monastery in order to secretly marry. But this does not go unnoticed. A betrayal will lead thousands of Turkish soldiers out of the monastery. The abbot of the monastery, the monks and the members of the two families take up arms and the Siege begins. A struggle for survival and a cycle of revelations also begin with her. The story unfolds on the big screen, through the conversation between 2 officers of the Greek army, at the Rupel fort, in March 1941.
