Professor Pascal Hammel, head of the digestive oncology department at Beaujon Hospital (Clichy), told the story of a challenge, that of pancreatic cancer. Still at a therapeutic impasse, this disease is too often characterized by a poor prognosis. Progress is slow for these tumors without specific symptoms, deep and difficult to access. "The signals of the disease are quite silent, the time between the first signals and the diagnosis can be long." Personalized treatments form "reasonable sources of hope" for improving patient survival. "France is not behind in this area. […] INCa has notably enabled the development of the Integrated Action Programs for Research (PAIR) pancreas."
