Simson S51 moped rebuild 2018: The idea for this build came about over an after-work beer on the garden bench. I found out about a main frame with GDR papers and still had a lot of add-on parts left over. From the experience with the SR50 and S50, I wanted to create an S51 B2-4! Goal: To get a fair-weather moped on the road that was as original as possible with a manageable financial outlay! The engine is original and unopened! However, all wearing parts such as shaft seals, oil, etc. were replaced. The year of manufacture of the engine matches the year of manufacture of the frame! The mileage on the speedometer does not correspond to the mileage of the engine! Facts: -Simson S51 B2-4 ("B" for "indicator" / "2" for "electronic ignition" / "4" for "4-speed") -Year of manufacture 1983 (built from 1980-1991) -Power: 3.7 HP single-cylinder - two-stroke -Top speed: 60 km/h according to the papers, could be a bit better. -Consumption: approx. 3 liters of mixture 1:50 -Color: DDR cherry red (approximately RAL 2002) https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simson_S51 9:25: Of course it should say indicator control light, unfortunately an l got lost ;) If you have any questions, just write them in the comments! // Simson S51 rebuild 2018 documentation //
