Cameras: Panasonic Lumix G9 II Lenses: 8 to 400 mm GOPRO HERO 9 Editing: IMovie, CapCut Behind the cameras: Hannelore Klaus, Lasse Frahm The film footage was shot on the Kiel Canal in the sections from Rendsburg to the lock in Kiel-Holtenau and on the Kiel Fjord from Laboe to Kieler Hörn, the end of the Kiel Fjord. The Kiel Canal is in operation all year round, 24 hours a day. To get to the recording locations, we usually travel by bike (no e-bike). This means we cycle around 7,000 km a year. Sometimes - in very bad weather - we forego cycling and use public transport (bus, train or ship) instead. We have photographed many hundreds of ships and the number is growing. In our films we show impressions from all four seasons. We filmed in beautiful weather, in cold weather, in snow, in fog or in storms. In the other episodes of this series you will see the different weather conditions. The selection of ships for each episode is not based on the date of the recording. Summer motifs can sometimes alternate with winter snow. That is intentional. And one last note: we are not professional ship spotters. The joy of experiencing the landscape and nature and of wholesome physical exertion are the main focus. And if ships can be seen now and again during our bike tours, then that is all the more gratifying. An important current note: the banks of the Kiel Canal can only be used by pedestrians and cyclists. However, some sections of the route are closed for longer periods (!) due to construction work.
