SharePoint Online makes it particularly easy to implement the perfect intranet. Whether it's a new setup or a migration from SharePoint 2016 or SharePoint 2019. The video uses lively examples and demos to show and explain which basic considerations are useful when planning and setting up the intranet landscape. These considerations are condensed into 5 principles of the SharePoint intranet and can serve as a guide for companies when implementing individual intranet projects. In the first tip, we start with the page structure and ask the question of which criteria the page structure can be based on. A clear focus of the individual pages on specific user groups in the company plays a key role. In the second tip, we then examine the influence SharePoint permissions have on the page structure. An example is used to illustrate how permission conflicts between internal user groups and external users can be avoided. In the third tip, we cover the planning and use of document libraries and lists. We show why documents should be stored as homogeneously as possible within a library. Here we also discuss the importance of the correct library settings for later work with Power Automate workflows for advanced document management. In the fourth tip, we ask ourselves under which conditions it can make sense to interrupt the inheritance of permissions on subordinate elements such as libraries and lists. Here it quickly becomes clear that permissions can only be reduced here in order not to lose the navigation function. In the final fifth tip, we focus on the SharePoint home site, i.e. the start page.
