ℹ️ Non-commissioned officer of the Gendarmerie who served three times, for 45 consecutive days, at the “Arsenal Miguel de Azcuénaga” detention center, located on the outskirts of the city of San Miguel de Tucumán. In August 1978, he was an external guard at the “El Olimpo” CCD. Omar E. Torres was a Non-commissioned Officer of the National Gendarmerie between May 1975 and December 1982. In 1976 and 1977 he was assigned to a mobile detachment (which depended on the First Army Corps) based in Campo de Mayo. From that destination, the detachment to which he belonged was transferred every three months and for a period of 45 days, to the “Arsenal Miguel de Azcuénaga” in Tucumán. There he witnessed the captivity of kidnapped people, the torture and the executions commanded by the then Governor of that province, General Antonio Domingo Bussi. In August 1978, the clandestine detention center “El Olimpo” was opened, located on Lacarra and Ramón L. Falcon streets. Torres provided perimeter guard services until its closure at the end of January 1979. He mentions circumstances, mentions repressors and reports the theft of money by members of the task forces. He asked to be discharged before the advent of democracy and testified before the Conadep and in several judicial cases.
