During the provision of the initial and periodic training courses of the CQC I was able to find that the hauliers associate the reduced weekly rest period with the mandatory duration of 24 hours; but this is NOT true because, as specified in this video, for the RE. CE 561/2006 the reduced weekly rest period is AT ALL TIMES less than 45 hours but not less than 24 hours. We also wanted to indicate with various slides the different possibilities of use and recovery of the weekly hours of rest not used. We concluded with a broad overview of the sanctioning aspects, specifying as repeatedly reiterated by the Ministry of the Interior that the failure to provide for an administrative sanction to the driver who does not respect the reduced weekly rest period within 10% DOES NOT exclude the liability of the carrier subject to sanctions pursuant to art. 174 co. 14 CdS
