Karina Vieira focuses her research on the issue of the formation of the identity of black women in the west zone of Rio de Janeiro and, consequently, of the black community. According to her, the black population needs positive role models, and she presents examples of women and situations that are contributing to the positive formation of this identity. Karina shows that: “Individually, we do not have money or wealth, but collectively, no one stops us”. Karina Vieira has a degree in Social Communication and a postgraduate degree in Social Policy Management from Castelo Branco University, is a Communications Consultant for Baobá - Fund for Racial Equity, Communications Director at AUR, and a researcher for two extension groups at UCB, focusing her research on the issue of the formation of the identity of black women in the west zone of Rio de Janeiro and, consequently, of the black community.
