Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of death among men in Brazil, after lung cancer. According to INCA – the National Cancer Institute, 61,000 new cases arise in the country each year. In 2016, more than 13,700 people died from the disease. Prostate cancer is almost always silent. It is usually discovered not by symptoms, but by routine exams. Men over 50 should see a urologist. If there are cases in the family, the age limit is reduced to 45. The chances of a cure are 95% when diagnosed early.
