About the book and central reflections “The Delay of the Future and the Cordial Man” proposes a critical analysis of Brazilian history, questioning “presentism” and the lack of a project for the future. With five chapters, the book examines the “deformation” of the modernity project and the figure of the “cordial man” as structuring elements that prevent Brazil from developing an inclusive and autonomous model of development. The book suggests that, in order to overcome this cycle of delay, it is necessary to adopt a long-term vision and abandon practices that sustain the status quo. The short course is intended for those who seek to understand Brazil's challenges and potential in a global context.
