Check out our special conditions for our Black Friday here: https://lvnt.app/ud2tyt 11/21 - Stock Market -0.79%, Dollar R$5.81, BRFS3 +4% and LREN3 -4% Hello, welcome to another Market Closing, with me Flávio Conde and without Ricardo who took a break from the holidays. Today is Thursday, November 21, and the program is dedicated to Alexandre, Emerson, Élcio and Alfonzo, all VIP Room clients who had 1-hour meetings with us. The Ibovespa was down -0.79%, at 127,182 points with a reasonable volume of R$22 billion, R$3 billion below the average of R$25 billion for bullish market Thursdays. Why did the Stock Exchange perform like this? 1st. The stock market opened lower, negatively impacted by the dollar at R$5.81 and rising interest rates due to uncertainty over the federal government's spending cut package, which was postponed for the umpteenth time between the weekend and Monday. In addition, the likely escalation of Russia's war with Ukraine caused oil prices to rise 2% and influenced the appetite of foreign and local investors, who sold more reais to buy dollars and reduced their positions in stocks. Thus, the Ibovespa hit a low of 126.6 thousand points at 1:25 p.m. and recovered from the fall to close at 127,182 points, down -0.79%. On B3, Petrobras shares led the gains with a slight increase, along with exporters Embraer, BRF, Gerdau, Suzano and Marfrig. Meanwhile, shares of indebted companies such as Cosan, Engie and CSN led the losses, along with retailers, education and telecommunications companies. 2nd. At B3, 6 stocks rose among the 15 most traded stocks, with highlights for: PETR4 0.45% R$37.97, EMBR3 3.8% R$56.50, BRFS3 3.5% R$25.27, GGBR4 1.1% R$19.86 and SUZB3 0.75% R$60.85. 3rd. 9 stocks fell among the most traded, with highlights for: VALE3 -0.10% R$57.67, BBAS3 -2.2% R$25.30, ITUB4 -1.4% R$34.12, B3SA3 -1.5% R$9.87, and JBSS3 R$34.80 -0.20%. 4th. Oil prices rose 2% to $74.30 from $73 yesterday, at the limit of daily volatility of -/+2%, with investors fearing (rightly) a likely escalation of war between Russia and Ukraine after the US allowed Ukraine to launch long-range missiles, up to 300 km, which could reach part of Russian territory, and Russia reportedly revised part of its doctrine for the use of nuclear weapons, reducing the requirements for such. 5th. Iron ore was almost stable at $107.3 from $107.1 yesterday, with this market not yet reflecting a likely escalation of the war between Russia and Ukraine. 6th. American stock markets had mixed performance, with the Nasdaq stable and the Dow 1%, with the weight of the technology sector and shares of Nvidia, which presented its financial statements yesterday with less optimistic projections, and Alphabet, Google's parent company, which is being pressured by the US federal government to sell its Chrome browser. Salesforce, IBM, Home Depot, Merck, Goldman and Nike are leading the Dow Jones, with investors rotating between sectors – from technology stocks that have already risen well to stocks in the US domestic economy that could be positively impacted by Trump's pro-American economic policy. The market is also following the surge in Bitcoin, which hit a new high today, above US$98,000, still benefiting from President-elect Donald Trump's proposals to stimulate the use of cryptocurrency. 7th. The dollar rose 4 cents from R$5.77 to R$5.81, up 0.70%, following the US currency, which rose 0.30% versus strong currencies and 0.60% against emerging currencies. 8th. The balance of foreign investments in the Bovespa secondary market, of shares already in circulation, was positive by R$156.1 million on Monday, November 18, according to information from B3. With this result, the balance accumulated in November by foreigners in the secondary market of the Brazilian stock exchange is negative by R$1.5 billion.
