The most important thing in growing blueberries is to plant them properly, it will save us a lot of problems later... Proper soil preparation is the basis, lowering the soil pH, weeding, and replenishing all the mineral components... Unfortunately, in these times it is a very expensive matter, peat, sawdust, fertilizers, and a whole bunch of other things mean that planting blueberries is associated with gigantic costs... The worst thing is that even before the war in Ukraine, the prices of the fruit were plummeting to a level bordering on profitability, so it is not known whether this year the costs of fruit production will not be higher than the fruit itself... Therefore, I have limited to the minimum the costs that I could incur when planting, because unfortunately I do not know whether I will sell blueberries this year above the profitability costs...
