One of the most popular Czech singers has always been a bit outside the local pop scene. Lenka Filipová became the local prototype of the "girl with a guitar" in the 1980s, although she never played classical folk. Instead, her middle-of-the-road music extended into chanson and classical music, captivating listeners and critics alike as a teenage conservatory student. In the next On Air, Lenka recalled her very beginnings with the guitar, her study stay in Paris, from where, among other things, she brought her biggest hit, the song Zamilována, but also how she professionally met Celine Dion, who replaced Lenka at the 1988 Eurovision Song Contest. where she was invited to represent Switzerland, but the Czech authorities did not allow her to do so at the time. Who are her singing role models? What guitar does she play best? And how did her collaboration with Karl Zich come about? Watch the full interview.
