In early October, I went on a 3-night, 4-day traverse to Kumonodaira, the innermost part of the Northern Alps. On the first day, I camped from the Oritate trailhead to Yakushi Pass, on the second day I took the Nishiginza Diamond Course and stayed overnight at Kurobe Gorogoya, on the third day I climbed from the source of the Kurobe River and stayed at Kumonodaira Sanso, and on the fourth day I descended all the way to the Oritate trailhead. I had always wanted to hike the Northern Alps for a long time, and although there were several options, I decided to go for Kumonodaira this time. Although it was an extra day in terms of the schedule to go through Nishiginza, which I had heard was the most beautiful, I am really glad that I was able to approach it on this course. The whole way was tough, and the weather conditions were not good, and there were quite a few times when I was exposed to rain and wind, but the scenery was overwhelming, as it was the beginning of autumn and the highlands were starting to turn red, so it was truly beautiful. Above all, I am really glad that I was able to finish my first long-term mountain trip of 3 nights and 4 days safely and in good health.
