That is why the Swedish Reformation Bible Society chose to revise the New Testament and published a first edition in 2003. With the Lord's help, we wish to ensure that the old Swedish Reformation Bible lives on in a modern language. In the second edition in 2016, the Reformation Bible Society has translated the Textus Receptus from 1894 directly into Swedish. In the work, two translations have had a great influence, Charles XII's Bible and the English translation King James Version, because they are based on the same basic Greek text. This means that those who want a faithful translation of the Textus Receptus from 1894 should choose the Reformation Bible. This also means that those who want Karl XII's Bible in contemporary Swedish should choose the Reformation Bible. The Reformation Bible is also the translation in Swedish that best matches the King James Version, because it has had a great influence in the translation work. The Reformation Bible is thus a modern translation of the Textus Receptus at the same time as it is also a revision of Charles XII's church Bible.
