During that time - against the doctors' recommendations - he pushed away the prospect of having a stoma as much as he could. Everything he read about it discouraged him from the procedure - that it stinks, that physical exertion with a stoma is out of the question, that it is simply impossible to live normally with it. In the end, however, he had no choice, because the progressing disease began to threaten his life. And it really turned out that the stoma changed Dawid's life - but for the better. People either don't know anything about stomas or they associate them negatively. With something shameful that needs to be hidden. Dawid wants to spread knowledge about what it means to live with a stoma, to speak honestly about its advantages and disadvantages. Above all, however, he wants to normalize the topic, which in many stoma patients arouses a sense of shame and a desire to isolate themselves from the environment. Dawid also wants to dispel myths about stomas. It was the misconceptions about them that made him think of a stoma bag as the end of the world.
